CRC Awards $91,000 to local Art & Cultural Organizations and Individual Artists

CRC is proud to announce that during the 2010 NYSCA DEC funding cycle it awarded $91,000 to local art and cultural organizations in Onondaga, Cortland and Oswego Counties.

“The purpose of Decentralization (DEC) is to foster the continuing development of local cultural resources responsive to community needs. These needs are articulated by the DEC site in a community cultural plan. DEC helps to ensure access to arts and culture in each of the 62 counties of New York State, including areas that are geographically isolated, economically disadvantaged, and ethnically diverse.” (Read more at the NYSCA website )

This year’s Michael Harms Festival was a huge success. Thank you for all that attended. (William Nottingham HS, Auburn HS, Skaneateles HS, The Media Unit, Oswego’s Children Theatre, Spanish Action League)

Next year’s Festival dates have been tentatively identified. They are March 4, 5, & 6, 2011. Additiional information regarding next year’s Festival will be posted to this site as it becomes available. So SAVE THE DATES and come back to find out more next winter/spring.

“The Adventures of Rudolph” flies into the Crouse Hinds Concert Theatre for its school day performances on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, December 8, 9, and 10, 2010.

Leadership Greater Syracuse seeks applicants to the Class of 2011

Leadership Greater Syracuse, Central New York’s premier community leadership training organization, is seeking applicants for 2011 class. LGS is dedicated to recruiting, equipping, engaging and uniting present and future leaders of all ages, experiences and backgrounds committed to making a difference in their communities.

Each 50-member class represents a cross-section of local business, education, manufacturing, nonprofit and government organizations. The LGS program teaches program participants about community leadership, empowerment, group dynamics, community opportunities and trends, and transforming communities using its assets while solving problems. By years end, class members have forged strong bonds with each other as they approach challenges by using their collective talents and experience.

CRC Collaborates with SU to provide local Artists support, encouragement, and resources

CRC in collaboration with SU has resources available to local artists. The Community Art Wing mini-cluster is located at 350 W. Fayette St., Room 001 in Syracuse.

Artists are invited to use the mini cluster’s facilities free of charge. Currently the mini cluster is open Monday through Friday, during the day. For off-hour usage please call the CRC office to make arrangements for access. Call CRC at 315.435.2155 for additional information. For technical support, during the day, in the mini-cluster please call our offices to arrange for assistance.

We are pleased to announce that Tammy Jones, currently working towasrd her BFA degree at Sage College in Albany, will be offering design and technical assistance in the mini-cluster Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 1:30 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.
