CRC GRANTS FOR ARTISTS, ARTS ORGANIZATIONS, AND SCHOOLS
The Cultural Resources Council provides financial support for arts activities throughout Central New York through several competitive grant programs. Descriptions, application procedures, and forms for each distinct program are provided below:

Community Arts Grants (DEC) (Application Deadline: passed)
Community Arts Grants are offered to not-for-profit organizations that sponsor community-based arts projects. Grants of $500 to $5,000 are awarded competitively for activities such as performances, arts festivals, exhibitions, public arts classes, mural projects, and many other programs that enhance the cultural life of Central New York communities. Funds are provided by the State and Local Partnership Program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), through its Decentralization initiative. Individual Artist Grants (Application Deadline: passed)
Individual Artist Grants are offered to artists in the visual, performing, literary and media arts for carrying out creative projects that strengthen the connection between working artists and their community. Grants of $1,000 are awarded for activities such as the creation of art in public places; the creation of new music, choreography or plays for public performance; the creation and public dissemination of film or video works. Funds are provided by the State and Local Partnership Program of the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), through its Decentralization initiative. NYFA Strategic Opportunity Stipends (SOS) (Application Deadline: passed)
New York Foundation on the Arts Strategic Opportunity Stipends are grants of $200 to $1500 offered to working artists in all creative disciplines for specific opportunities that will significantly benefit their career development. The CRC is one of eight regional organizations throughout New York who help administer this NYFA program. We serve artists residing in Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, and Otsego Counties. See grant guidelines for more detailed information.

Arts Education Grants (art$TART) (Application Deadline: passed)
Arts Education Grants (art$TART) support creative teaching partnerships between schools (Pre-K through Grade 12) and arts organizations or individual artists. Grants ranging from $500 to $2,000 support projects directly related to the school curriculum in either the arts or other disciplines. With funds from the Arts Education Program of the the New York State Council on the Arts, we support collaborative partnerships in public or private schools in Cayuga, Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego Counties.
