MICHAEL HARMS THEATER FESTIVAL
Michael Harms Theater Festival
at Cayuga Community College
Auburn , NY
On Saturday, March 31st, the Cultural Resources Council presented the 2012 Michael Harms Theater Festival. More than 200 students and 50 adults from five schools and three community theater groups gathered at Cayuga Community College for this annual theater competition for secondary students produced by the CRC. The participating groups were: Auburn High School, Jamesville-DeWitt High School, La Joven Guardia del Teatro Latino, Manlius Pebble Hill School, The Media Unit, Oswego Children’s Theater, Sherburne-Earlville High School Drama Club, and Skaneateles High School Drama.
The following is a full list of the awards and scholarship handed out at the Festival:
Scholarships
- Michael Harms Memorial Scholarship was awarded to: Taylorann Flurschutz - Auburn High School
- Cultural Resources Scholarship was awarded to: Gabriella Whiting – Skaneateles High School
Festival Awards:
- The award for Outstanding Technical Achievement was presented to Manlius Pebble Hill School for their production of The Rimers of Eldritch, directed by Louis Balestra DiNolfi
- The Award of Excellence-Community Theater was presented to La Joven Guardia del Teatro Latino for their production of El Camarón Encantado (The Enchanted Shrimp), directed by José Miguel Hernández Hurtado
- The Award of Excellence-High School was presented to Skaneateles High School for their production of The Phantom of the Opera, directed by Micheal Kringer
